Venus came with Poppy from Beagle Welfare in April 2011. A small dog with attitude, she was grossly overweight and we spent the next two years battling the bulge.
Sadly, her early over-indulgence took its toll: she suffered a stroke in May 2013 and after a short stay in vet hospital, was allowed home to spend her last days in familiar surroundings. Like the little madam she was, she refused to co-operate with the diagnosis and we enjoyed her company for four more wonderful months. In September 2013, she finally passed on leaving her best friend, Poppy, to keep us in order.
On 19 February 2017, they were reunited. Run free, girls.
