Poppy, our sweet, bright-eyed girl came to us with Venus from Beagle Welfare in April 2011. They changed our lives completely. Always on the go, forever on the scrounge, Poppy oozed energy, and, lead illiterate, she always found the most awkward way to go. More than anything, she wanted to please and made friends human and canine wherever she went.
In December 2016, after almost six happy, healthy years, she developed a hacking cough and went off her food. Our world fell apart a month later when she was diagnosed with cancer. On 19 February 2017, just a month before her 13th birthday, she left us desolate to run free with her best friend and manic ear masseuse. Poppy loved having her ears worked and Venus did it best.
