Callie

Callie

Callie came to live with me in April 24, when she was 11 and a half having been loved for 2 years by Jo and Jasmine Carroll in foster care.

She made me smile every day – everyone who got to know her commented on what a character was was – she was definite about her likes and dislikes. She loved sniffy walks, snoozing  and snaffling. She was very well known and loved in the local pet shop despite persistent shop lifting and was an ardent campaigner for the shop to have longer opening hours. I always felt obliged to show her that the shop wasn’t open whenever we passed!

She didn’t like walks in the rain, wasn’t particularly impressed by bouncy dogs and she always shouted at me when I came home ‘Where have you been? What time do you call this?!’ etc

In the months before she died, she’d had a few episodes when her breathing became rapid.

This last time, at the end of Feb 26,  the vet thought that heart failure was the cause and helped me conclude that it was time to say goodbye.

I will always be grateful to Beagle Welfare for trusting me with her, special thanks to Jo and of course to Callie for bringing me, my friends and family so much joy. I loved her so much.
