About Bruce

Bruce was with me from when he was 3 months old until his sudden passing at just 2 days after his 10th birthday. He was a well-travelled beagle including spending 8 months living with me in Brazil! Yes, you read that right Brazil! He was my shadow. The love I felt every time he saw me, even if only 5 minutes had passed was something my heart will ache for forever. He had a full life with many beagle friends, including a few who came to stay with him at times.

He was part of Beaglemania, he was in a Pets at Home ad, helped me with our home visits for Beagle Welfare (only 2 but even so we did them!), I even wrote an article about how amazing he was when his human sister arrived into our world when he was 7 years old. Bruce went on many beagle walks and made himself well-known. His bark was famous among those we knew. He even was part of my wedding making it as a figure on top of the cake and was part of our photos. He was a ‘typical’ beagle, naughty, stubborn, food orientated but with the biggest heart ever imaginable.

From the moment I collected him from Wales where he climbed across my husbands’ lap to be in mine to the moment he left us simply collapsing at the bottom of our stairs and closing his eyes there was no separation between us. Physically there now is. Spiritually there never will be. My boy, my heart, run free.

Thank you. I love you. Bruce 28/07/10 – 30/07/20
