Ava

Ava

In January 2022, we adopted Ava from Beagle Welfare. We were Ava’s third home and she was nearly five years old when she came to us. Although Ava’s behaviour was a little challenging at first, she soon understood that she had to abide by our rules, not hers!  Ava quickly became a huge part of our family, and she was a very affectionate, friendly and loyal dog. She was fascinated with bumble bees, how she never got stung, I don’t know!  Ava had a love for carrots, crusts off our toast and crunching ice cubes in her water on a warm day. She was my sofa buddy in the evenings and she could never have enough attention or cuddles.

Very sadly, in May 2025, within the space of a few days Ava became extremely poorly with an aggressive incurable cancer, and we had to say goodbye. She’d shown no signs and we were all very shocked as it happened so fast. At only eight years old, it seemed so unfair. We had Ava for just over three years and would have loved so many more, but I know we gave her a lovely life and home, and she brought us so much happiness too.  Ava, not a day goes past when we don’t miss you and we will never forget you.
