Scrappy is a lemon and white male, born 4th January 2013, who needs a new home after a sad bereavement in his family. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
Scrappy enjoys his long walks across the fields, and is best walked on a Halti. He has been let off lead in secure areas only. Scrappy is used to travelling in the car, and sits nicely for both long and short journeys. Scrappy loves to see other dogs, and wants to play with them all. He will bark excitedly at them, and be very disappointed if he’s not allowed. He really loves to play chase with other dogs, especially other beagles.
At home, Scrappy is house trained and sleeps in an open crate. He can be left alone for a few hours. Scrappy can be afflicted with Sleep Startles, where a dog who is woken up unexpectedly will snap at the person who woke him. Because of this, he needs a home where everyone understands the importance of leaving Scrappy alone when he is asleep, so we will not rehome Scrappy to a family where there are young children. He is not destructive and has never tried to escape from his secure garden. Is Scrappy steals an item, he will usually give it back when asked.
Scrappy has not lived with a cat, so his new home should be a cat free one. He has lived with an older child who understood not to disturb him when asleep. Scrappy is an independent character, who is happy to sit and watch the world go by just as much as he enjoys playing tug with his toys. When he is ready, he will come to you for affection and cuddles, and treat you as one of his pack.
