We’re Ruby and Roxy, a beagle mum-and-daughter pair looking for a loving home where we can stay together. Roxy has been with her mum all her life and depends on her confidence and company, so we’re searching for a home that can welcome both of us as a duo.

I’m the lemon and white girl and the calmer of the two of us. I’m six years old and love relaxing on the sofa, taking life at a gentle pace, and being close to my humans. I’m affectionate, steady, and always enjoy being part of the family—even more so if there’s a chance of a tasty snack nearby.
And I’m Roxy!
I’m the tricolour one, full of energy and always ready for fun. I adore sprinting around secure fields, playing with toys, and getting into cheerful mischief. I’m four years old, very loving, and stick to my mum like her shadow. We truly are a team.
We’re very typical beagles: friendly, loving, chatty when the mood takes us, and extremely enthusiastic about food. Our noses guide us everywhere, and we’re experts at detecting anything edible, even a lonely crisp packet left on the side. We’re both currently on a weight-loss journey, so our new home will need to help us continue making progress.
We haven’t had much experience with daily walks, so we’re very strong on the lead and will need confident handlers who understand that a beagle’s nose can sometimes take over the brain. With time and practice, we’ll get better, but we’ll definitely need guidance at first.
At home, we’ve always lived in a family environment. We are housetrained and crate trained, and we’ve been left for up to four hours a couple of times a week without worry. We sleep together downstairs and enjoy chewing on antlers; Roxy especially loves playing with toys. We’re used to car journeys of around twenty minutes.
We need to be the only dogs in our new home. We do currently live with a cat, though we do like to sniff bums, so we would only suit a confident cat who prefers to keep some distance. If you already have a cat, you’ll need to live close to PE20 2BB so we can pop over for a cat test.
We’ve lived with children of all ages and have the potential to live with children aged five and over. We can jump up and are snatchy with food—typical beagles—so children will need to be confident, dog-savvy, and supervised around snacks.
A garden would make us very happy, especially one with fencing of at least 5ft so we can explore, sniff, and sunbathe safely.
We’re really hoping to find a family who understands beagles and will appreciate our funny habits, gentle moments, noisy moments, and everything in between. If you can offer both of us a forever home, we promise that we’ll bring loyalty, laughter, affection, and plenty of charm into your life.
