Patch

About Patch

Patch is a tricolour male, born on 9th October 2014.  Patch is looking for a new home as he is not coping with the arrival of a new baby in his home.  He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.

When Patch goes for a walk, he can wear a harness, but is not a big fan of it, despite his owner trying to make it a positive experience.  He has been let off lead, and will usually come back when called, but might also disappear off after a scent.  Patch has never shown aggression to any dog he has met, and loves to play with the dogs he meets.  Patch is very loyal to his owner, and has been unhappy with having to share her with the new people who have come into the household.

Patch would need to be an only dog in the household.

At home, Patch is house trained and crate trained, and can be left on his own for a few hours if you have to go out.  He is not destructive and has never tried to escape from his secure garden.  If Patch steals an item, he will usually trade it for a treat, as long as it’s from someone he trusts

Patch likes to chase cats, so would need a cat free home.  He has made it very clear that he doesn’t like living with young children, so would need to be a part of an adult only home, or adults with older children.  Patch is clearly very devoted to those who look after him, and is devastated by people joining or leaving the group he is used to.  He needs a stable and consistent home where he can rely on everyone in the family to be there for him each day.  Instability in his home causes instability in his mood, so a family who can offer him consistency is what he needs more than anything.  He is a very intelligent dog who knows countless tricks, and loves to learn more to add to his library.  He loves long walks, sitting with his family, and playing games, especially if they need him to use his brain to release food from the toy.
