Nala is a tricolour female, born on 28th March 2016. She is looking for a new home as she is not getting along with a baby in her current home. Nala is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
Nala goes for walks with her lead clipped to her collar, because she didn’t enjoy being walked on a harness. She can be let off lead on walks, and really enjoys her time off lead. She is happy to travel in the car, either on the back seat or on the front seat, with a seatbelt attachment clipped to her collar. Nala has never shown aggression to people, although she is quite an anxious dog, and may bark at unfamiliar people. After being bitten by a larger breed dog when she was a puppy, and she finds bigger dogs intimidating now as a result of this. She has quite a high prey drive, and will chase small, fluffy dogs if provoked. Because of her anxiety, her owner thinks she would be happier as an only dog.
At home, Nala is house trained but does not use a crate, as she reacted badly to it. She can be left on her own for a few hours if you need to go out without her. Nala is not destructive and has never tried to escape from her secure garden, although she would need secure fencing, as she can easily jump over low fences. If Nala steals an item, she will usually trade it for a treat, unless it’s a food she particularly values, in which case she’ll eat it.
Nala has never lived with a cat, and is not consistent in her behaviour with other dogs, so would need to be the only pet in the home. In her two previous homes, she has always reacted badly to young children, so her new home must be one without youngsters. Nala is a very loving and loyal hound, who will want to be your best friend, and sneak into your bed for early morning cuddles if she can. She likes to play catch and tug with her toys, and going on long walks, followed by a whole-family cuddle on the sofa. Nala is a big fan of food, and has previously eaten an entire trifle, so a family who can keep her busy and distracted is definitely essential to her happiness!
