About Minnie

Minnie is a much-loved, affectionate beagle who has been with her owner since she was a puppy. She is gentle, people-focused, and gives the very best cuddles. She adores being close to her humans — whether that’s snuggling on the sofa, pottering about the house keeping an eye on you, or snoozing (and snoring!) on her bed in the bedroom.

She has the typical beagle love of sniffing — once her nose switches on, her ears switch off! She enjoys her walks, especially getting her nose deep into hedgerows.

Health & Wellbeing

  • No known health problems
  • Recently developed some separation anxiety
  • On Royal Canin Weight Care to help manage her weight
  • Fed morning and teatime

Training & Behaviour

  • Lead trained: Walks on a harness. May pull slightly at first due to excitement.
  • Recall: Not reliable – must remain on lead during walks.
  • Housetrained: Yes, occasional accident if left too long.
  • Crate trained: Yes. Prefers a covered crate with blankets – this is her safe space.
  • Can be left alone: Around 2–3 hours in her crate. May howl briefly at first but settles.
  • Travelling: Fine on short journeys.
  • Destructive: Not in the home, but bins are very tempting! May dig in the garden if bored.

She may try to run off with stolen items in a playful way but shows no aggression when items are retrieved.

Social Life

  • People: No aggression. Very affectionate and people-loving.
  • Dogs: Previously lived happily with a Mastiff and a Staffy. Friendly on walks and enjoys polite dog interactions. Possibly could live with another dog, ideally male.
  • Cats: Not suitable to live with cats. Will bark and likely chase.

She can be cautious around dachshunds due to past nipping incidents but is not aggressive.

Sleeping

Sleeps on her bed in the bedroom (and yes, she snores!). Loves blankets and cosy spaces.

Likes & Personality

  • Snuggling on the sofa
  • Long fusses and attention
  • Tug-of-war games
  • Lounging on her beloved bean bag
  • Looking at you sweetly (usually for snacks!)
  • Sporting stylish walking outfits

Not interested in chasing balls — she considers that beneath her dignity!

Ideal Home

Minnie would thrive in:

  • A calm home with someone around most of the day
  • Owners who understand beagles and scent-led behaviour
  • A secure garden
  • A family willing to continue gentle reassurance around separation

She is a loving, loyal girl who simply wants companionship, routine, and affection.

Minnie is a special girl who has been cherished all her life. She now needs a family who can give her the time, patience, and love she so happily gives in return.
