Louie is a male tri colour beagle who is around six years old. His owner doesn’t have an exact date of birth for him. He is microchipped. Louie is looking for a new home due to a change in his family’s circumstances.
Louie walks nicely on his lead, and does not pull. He can be let off lead, as he will always come back. He doesn’t have much experience of travelling, so would need an owner prepared to help him learn about it and enjoy going to fun places in the car. Louie is not aggressive with people or dogs, but is not a fan of smaller dogs, and will bark at them.
At home, Louie is house trained, but has very occasionally had an accident. Positive reward based training and access to a dog flap into a garden might help him learn not to do this. Louie has never used a crate. He can be left on his own for a few hours, and is not destructive. Louie doesn’t tend to steal, but he will return stolen items, unless it’s food, in which case it’s gone before you can ask! He has never tried to escape from his secure garden.
Louie has never lived with cats or children, so it would be better if he went to live with a family without cats or younger children in the home. He is a very affectionate hound, who loves a cuddle and a kick about with a football in the garden.
