Hector is a young tricolour male, born on 10th December 2018. He is looking for a new home as his family setup is changing. Hector is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
Hector wears a harness when he goes for walks, as he can pull when he discovers a new scent he’d like to get closer to. He has been let off lead when he has a companion who can be trusted to encourage him to come back when called. Hector is happy to travel in the car, and has travelled in a crate or safely secured in the boot. He enjoys watching the world go by throughout the journey. Hector has never shown aggression to another person or dog. He is submissive and playful with other dogs, and loves to play chase with any dog who reciprocates his enthusiasm.
At home, Hector is house trained and crate trained, although he has been known to have accidents if he is nervous in an unfamiliar setting. He is not a huge fan of his crate, but can be convinced to go into it for a few hours with a nice toy like an antler or filled Kong if he is to be left on his own. If he is alone and bored, he can be destructive. If Hector steals an item, he will trade it back in exchange for a treat, or make you chase him for it. Hector has never tried to escape from his secure garden.
Hector has been good with the cats he has met, so a tolerant cat could be part of his new home. He has been fine with children he has met, but has bounced up at them very enthusiastically, which might be overwhelming for younger children, so any children in his new home should be older children. He loves to play fetch with his favourite toy ball and have cuddles, so he would be a great family dog.
