Eva
Eva is a sweet-natured, affectionate Beagle who simply wants to be close to her people. She has a gentle temperament, loves making new friends, and enjoys the company of both people and other dogs.
One of Eva’s biggest strengths is her friendly personality. She has never shown any aggression towards people and rarely even barks. She loves meeting other dogs, greeting them politely on walks before trying to encourage them to play. Eva could happily live with another friendly dog who would enjoy having a canine companion, although she would also thrive as an only dog if her new family were around for much of the day.
Eva walks well using a figure-of-eight lead, although like many Beagles she enjoys exploring every interesting scent she comes across. She can be let off lead safely in secure areas such as enclosed fields or dog parks, and with the help of a few tasty treats she has a reliable recall. She enjoys travelling in the car and is happiest with the window open so she can watch the world go by.
She is crate trained and settles well overnight, although she would equally enjoy sharing the bed with her owner if allowed. Eva’s biggest challenge is being left alone. She suffers from separation anxiety and becomes destructive if left out of her crate for long periods. Eva really needs a family where someone is home for most of the day, or where she has very little time on her own.
Around the home, Eva is loving and easy-going when people are present. She is fully housetrained and enjoys relaxing with her family. When left alone, however, she will chew bedding and household items, so blankets are used in place of a traditional dog bed.
Like any true Beagle, Eva is very food motivated and will happily help herself if food is left unattended. She has no dietary allergies and enjoys two meals a day. She also lives peacefully around cats, generally showing very little interest in them.
Eva is looking for a home where she won’t be left for long periods and where she can enjoy the companionship she longs for. In return, her new family will gain a loyal, affectionate and gentle Beagle who loves cuddles, enjoys the company of other dogs, and will reward them with endless love and devotion.
