Meet Chester — A Fun, Cheeky 1-Year-Old Beagle Looking for an Active Home!

Chester is a lively, affectionate 1-year-old Beagle who is full of personality and always ready for adventure. He’s a handsome boy, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and recently castrated. He’s healthy, energetic and eager to learn.

Reason for Rehoming

Chester’s owner is elderly and can no longer manage his energy levels and daily needs. He now needs a home that can keep up with his busy beagle brain and give him the structure, training and stimulation he thrives on.

Personality

Chester is loving, playful and enjoys being part of everything. He loves toys, grooming sessions, beach runs, woodland walks, and a good game of fetch in the garden. He’s also a huge treat-lover and very food-motivated — great for training!

He has lived happily around children aged 18 months to 15 years and enjoys the company of other dogs. He’s friendly in his dog interactions and generally calm when meeting dogs on lead.

Training & Behaviour

Chester is housetrained and crate-trained, sleeping in his crate downstairs at night. He can be left for short periods (up to 3 hours), though he may bark for the first few minutes.

He is very much a young Beagle — lively, curious, and sometimes mischievous! He can be mouthy or frustrated when he wants attention and is prone to chewing items such as cushions, shoes, skirting boards and bannisters if bored or under-stimulated. He’ll need a patient adopter who can continue his training and offer plenty of exercise and enrichment.

On lead, Chester pulls and follows his nose, and may occasionally try to chew the lead. Off lead, he loves running and playing but his recall is unreliable — he comes back “when he’s ready,” classic Beagle style!
