Buddy is a tricolour male, born on 12th March 2021. He is looking for a new home as his owners cannot give this very bouncy and energetic hound the time they would like. Buddy is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
Buddy goes for walks wearing a lead, and is often off lead on walks. He will come back to you when called, if you a have a treat for him. Buddy is happy to travel in the car, and his favourite place to sit is in the front seat, with his ears flapping out of the window. Buddy can resource guard high value food items, and will growl and snap if he thinks you’re going to take these from him. He will usually exchange these stolen items for a treat. He has never shown aggression to other dogs, and likes to play with all the dogs he meets.
At home, Buddy is house trained and crate trained. He has been left at home alone for a maximum of three hours, in his crate. While he is not an intentional escape artist, he will wander out of a gate if it’s left open. He is not destructive, and has only ever chewed up his own toys.
Buddy has never lived with a cat, and chases the ones he sees, so must join a cat free home. While he has lived with children, they have been older children, and due to his resource guarding and very bouncy behaviour, we would recommend that any children in his future home are older children who know how to manage resource guarding incidents without putting themselves at risk. He is a big fan of the great outdoors, whether that’s sunbathing in his garden, zooming around the open fields at high speed, or playing fetch while out on a walk, so it’s essential that his new family are active enough to help him channel his energy levels. At the end of the day, he likes to sit together with his family on the sofa, as close as he can possibly get.
