Bentley – 4 Year Old Male Beagle

Bentley is a handsome 4-year-old tri-colour beagle (born 18/08/2021) looking for a knowledgeable, experienced home. He is an affectionate boy with a lot of love to give and thrives on praise and attention from his people.

He is microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date with flea and worm treatments. Bentley is currently uncastrated.

About Bentley

Bentley is a friendly and loving dog who enjoys human company and responds well to positive attention. He knows some basic commands and is housetrained. He has travelled well in the car in a crate and settles without issue.

He is not destructive and is not known to try to escape from secure gardens.

Exercise & Handling

Bentley does pull on the lead, so will benefit from continued lead training. With consistency, he has the potential to improve.

Food & Behaviour

Bentley is very food-driven and can be opportunistic around food:

  • Will counter surf and check surfaces for food
  • Likely to take food if left within reach
  • Can be handled while eating and items have been removed without issue

He would benefit from an owner who understands food motivation and boundary setting, and who can continue reinforcing good behaviours around food.

Other Animals

  • Barks at cats, so a cat-free home is recommended

Ideal Home

Bentley would suit:

  • An adult-only home
  • Someone experienced with beagles or scent hounds
  • An owner confident in setting clear boundaries and continuing training

He would do especially well with someone familiar with managing food-driven behaviours and able to provide structure and consistency.

Personality

Bentley is a genuinely lovely boy who is:

  • Very affectionate
  • Eager for praise
  • Enjoys human interaction

He has settled well in his current environment and shown that, with the right guidance, he can be a well-mannered and rewarding companion.

Final Note

Bentley would thrive with a calm, confident owner who can give him clear direction and help him continue learning right from wrong. In the right home, he has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion.
