Archie came into RSPCA care when Inspectors were called after his owners were not
able to meet his welfare needs. He had an injured leg and they were unable to afford the
medical treatment. Archie had a fracture to his hind leg which had healed naturally. His
leg is now slightly shorter but he still gets around and is happy lad.
Archie is looking for a family experienced in owning Beagles, due to his working nature.
He is a typical Beagle and has his nose to the ground, Archie would suit a working type
home. He has some basic training – knowing sit, down, wait and paw but would benefit
from training classes to help build a bond with his new family. Archie is strong on the
lead so needs an owner who can hold a lively dog. Off lead he loves to play with toys
and his recall is reasonable. He will need to be kept on lead at first while he bonds with
his family. He will need to be in his own enclosed garden for off lead play. Archie is
generally a happy dog who is confident but sometimes random things can surprise him.
Archie is looking for an adult only home.
On his walks Archie is happy to meet other and is friendly. He is then happy to move on.
Off lead Archie is playful with other dogs. He may be able to live with another dog but it
will need to be playful and also able to teach him doggy manners.
Archie needs someone home with him the majority of the day. The time he is left will
need to be increased slowly as he settles as he was destructive in his previous home.
Archie needs lots of mental and physical stimulation and also needs help with learning to
settle down. Archie is house trained but he may need refresher house training and he
travels well in the car.
