On the 29th of October 2021, I adopted Higgins due to the cruel treatment of my previous Beagle by a friend whom I trusted. When she died, I vowed to adopt from then on. Higgins had very severe separation anxiety, and I must admit it was very hard work at first. It has been a very long road, but Higgins, in time, adapted to his new surroundings and was a very loving and well-behaved dog. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with very advanced Lymph cancer a month ago, and he passed away on 12th June 2023 at home with me. It, thankfully, was very quick. I know he was happy here with me, and I am very pleased I was able to give him a good home for the last months of his life. I will hopefully rehome another Beagle as I have, I think, found my calling!
Added by my son Michael:
May you rest in peace, Higgins. You have been a real inspiration to help more dogs in need like you. Thank you for giving me and my family the unforgettable pleasure of your company.
