Jack was our second Beagle and came to us through Helen Hatton in October 2010 at 18 months old. In common with most Beagles he was food obsessed and nothing was out of bounds as far as he was concerned. The fridge had a lock fitted after he found a way to open it more than once. He had separation issues when he came which we overcame for all practical purposes but he always wanted to be with us around the house, upstairs downstairs wherever. He would creep up during the night, check we were still in and then go back to his bed.
Wonderful with our four small grandchildren, they could do anything with him and he just loved the attention. He hated bath time and would hide as soon as preparations were being made but were full of the joys of Spring when it was all over. He was almost always walked on the lead, not because he would take off, but because he would just stop and sniff at every scent making progress impossible and he had very definite opinions on which way we should go. He featured as the cover photograph on In Full Cry Autumn 2015 and his story was inside.
Unfortunately, it transpired at a routine examination that he had some serious underlying health issues which would have involved a number of procedures which we did not want to put him through. Gone too soon, Jack was a special dog sadly missed by the whole family and all who knew him. 21st March 09 – 13th July 20. We will never forget you. xx
