Snoopy Ref 3571

Snoopy

Snoopy is a 3-year-old male Tan and White Beagle. He is described as a very affectionate dog who enjoys attention, playing in the garden and will sometimes play fetch.

Training & Behaviour

Snoopy is housetrained, although when staying with a friend he did have some accidents in the house. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate, although he can occasionally moan while in there.

He has not attended formal training classes. He currently wears a Halti to help with pulling on walks and has not been trained to walk off lead. His recall is not reliable and he will run off, so he needs to remain on lead or in a secure enclosed area.

Snoopy can be destructive when bored and enjoys digging in the garden. He also likes to turn having items taken away into a game, resulting in zoomies.

Food & Possessiveness

Snoopy has shown some possessive behaviour around bones and treats, so this will need to be managed carefully in his new home. He will also pinch food if it is left unattended.

His owners have previously found that he can be difficult to take items from, as he tends to turn it into a game. A home experienced with Beagles and sensible resource management would be beneficial.

Other Dogs

Snoopy has not shown aggression towards other dogs and is described as playful when meeting dogs on lead. He has lived with another dog previously and could potentially live with a suitable canine companion.

Cats

Snoopy has lived with cats before and is reported to be able to live with cats.

Travelling

Snoopy is used to travelling in the car, although he can suffer from car sickness on longer journeys.

Garden & Exercise

Snoopy needs a properly secure garden with tall fencing, as he can run off if given the opportunity. He enjoys being chased around the garden and is an enthusiastic digger.

Ideal Home

Snoopy is looking for a home where he can receive the time, exercise, attention and mental stimulation he is currently missing. He is an affectionate young Beagle who enjoys being involved with his people, but he will need continued training and appropriate management around food, treats and stolen items.
