Maisie is a beautiful 3-year-old Beagle looking for a new home where she can thrive.
Maisie is a loving and affectionate girl who forms strong bonds with her people. She has a huge personality and believes she’s a lap dog, always wanting to snuggle under the covers with her favourite humans. She is incredibly food-motivated, loves learning tricks in exchange for treats, and enjoys spending her days searching for treats hidden in the grass, chewing her favourite toys, and soaking up the sunshine. She also loves trips to the beach, where she’s happiest paddling in the water before rolling around in the sand or grass.
She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and travels well in the car in her crate. Maisie walks nicely on a head halti and can be left alone for up to four hours. She has no recall, so she should only be exercised on a lead or within a secure enclosed area.
Maisie currently lives happily with a smaller dog and could live with another friendly dog following sensible introductions. She is also used to living with a cat and has never shown any aggression towards cats, although she can be a little cautious around unfamiliar ones. She is generally friendly with other dogs but prefers smaller dogs and can be wary of larger breeds.
Around food, Maisie is a typical Beagle and would happily eat everyone’s dinner if given the chance. She should be supervised when feeding alongside other dogs, as she will try to help herself to both bowls. She has no issues with people taking items from her.
Maisie’s ideal home will be an adult-only household or one with older, dog-savvy teenagers. Maisie can be wary of unfamiliar men, although she settles much better if introductions are made outdoors first. She also dislikes being moved from the sofa and appreciates having her own space respected.
Maisie has no known health issues. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, although her vaccinations will soon be due for renewal, and her new family should ensure her routine veterinary care is kept up to date.
Maisie is a bright, affectionate and entertaining young Beagle who will flourish in the right environment. She is looking for patient, experienced owners who can continue building her confidence, respect her boundaries, and enjoy all the love, cuddles and Beagle antics she has to offer. In the right home, Maisie has every chance of becoming an incredibly rewarding and devoted companion.
