Lilly-Anne – 2 Year Old Female

Lilly-Anne is a 2-year-old white and Tan and white beagle with a big personality and lots of love to give. She is an energetic, playful girl who thrives on interaction, attention, and mental stimulation.

About Lilly

Lilly is a typical young beagle—full of energy, curiosity, and a strong nose! She loves people and will happily greet anyone who comes into the home. She is very affectionate, enjoys fuss and attention, and doesn’t like being ignored.

She is housetrained and sleeps well overnight in her crate. She can be left alone for up to 4 hours (crated), although she prefers being around people.

Exercise & Training

Walks on a harness and collar (double-clipped for safety)
Pulls at the start of walks due to excitement
Loves sniffing and exploring
Knows several commands and enjoys learning for treats

Important:

Recall is not reliable – she cannot be let off lead in open areas
Will run if given the chance and needs secure handling at doors/gates

Intelligence & Tricks

Lilly is clever and food-motivated, and already knows several commands including:

Sit, paw, spin, nose target
“Drop it” (reliable most of the time)
“Lilly in” to come indoors

She enjoys games like tug, fetch, and scent-based activities.

Behaviour & Considerations

Lilly is still very much a “big puppy” and needs continued guidance and structure:

Can jump up when excited
May grab toys or items from hands during play
Has shown occasional guarding behaviour around stolen food (growled/snapped twice when food was taken away)
Very food-driven and opportunistic (will scavenge, check bins, and steal food if accessible)

This behaviour is not constant but will need an owner who understands food management and training.

Social Behaviour

Dogs: Friendly but over-excited; can overwhelm other dogs
Cats: Mixed – lives with two; friendly with one but chases and pins the other

Travel & Environment

Gets car sick (limited travel experience)
Secure garden required – has not escaped a fenced garden but will bolt through open doors/gates
Not destructive with furniture, but will chew toys, beds, and get into bins if given the chance
Ideal Home

Lilly would be best suited to:

An experienced dog owner, ideally familiar with beagles
A home able to provide structure, training, and boundaries
A secure garden and careful management of doors/exits
Older children or a home without very young children
Someone prepared to manage her food-driven behaviour

Final Thoughts

Lilly is a fun, affectionate, and intelligent young beagle who will thrive in the right home. With consistent training, clear boundaries, and the right environment, she has the potential to become a fantastic companion.
